The road NOT taken ...

its easy to go by the trusted methods but it takes immense courage to break the conventional theories and develop your own set of ideas and theories... a knack to take the road that has not been taken may lead you both to the door of success or lots of troubles. So its always good to analyze the pros and cons of the decision that you are to take, and in such cases you need to be calculative not intuitive... its appreciable to follow your dreams but never go bye it just because you dream about it. You should realize your capabilities and take the decisions accordingly.

Its always very fulfilling to work in an area thats of your choice, so just introspect whats your calling and explore the possibilities in that area; these days there are a lot of interdisciplinary career openings like engineer working with medical machines, lawyer dealing with science and technology, engineers in bollywood, there is lot to explore, so never repent about what you are doing now ... just plan what you want to do in coming times - that might be crazy for others but you know that you can do it so why to wait ... dive in and the world is yours.

Today the consequences of human creativity in the areas of engineering, technology, and science have reached measures that only a few decades ago were unimaginable (e.g., telecommunication, genetic engineering, biotechnology, nanotechnology, information technologies, artificial intelligence). This capacity and development means an enormous amount of Power and Power can be tamed only with responsibility, obligation and accountability.

It is always expected from an engineer to keep the well being of the society in his/her mind, while designing new plans and implementing them, issues such as:

> Health and safety of common men,

> Pollution of all kinds,

> Depletion of resources,

> Energy policy,

> Nuclear power generation and waste disposal,

> Privacy,

> Economic and social aspects of advanced technology and automation,

> Educational aspects of the impact of technology.

Must be considered, because the development that we aspire can’t be visualized if the basics are not met, we very well know that the higher the building is to be built deeper the foundation is dug.

The fact of living in a complex, global, and intercultural world coupled with the unquestionable technological power wielded by governments and societies, make it necessary that engineers amplify the horizon of their technical knowledge with humanistic values and harmonize their specialized innovations and development with knowledge of the norms, principles, and ideals of ethics, it becomes moral duty of engineers to work for the betterment of society and to implement their knowledge for constructive purposes only. An engineer who is working for a particular firm or person should not blindly follow the orders of his employer, he should not act like a “hired gun” rather if something is going wrong then he must object, we must remember that society comes above individual gain. An engineer is ought to be morally correct and considerate of the responsibility endowed onto him to change the past into a better future. In the moral sense, responsibility is a virtue: a “responsible person” is careful, considerate, and trustworthy; common citizen rely on engineers, so if engineers do there job diligently they are being more than competent; in serving fellow humans, and serving them well is being good and honest to their profession. All the professions are given liberty to work autonomously for the betterment of society, a common person blindly follows the advice of a professional be it a doctor, lawyer, teacher or engineer and this liberty to decide the fate of society should not be made a mockery.

Thus, a responsible and competent engineer is one who is responsible for balanced development of society, nation and nature; he/she should be well informed about his field, should think for common people and be diligent towards his/her work. Always remember if we are not paying back to our roots then we are being a defaulter and defaulters have no where to survive.

LOK SABHA elections

Its about four five months from now that worlds one of the largest democracy would go voting but the verdict is again going to be biased, there has been a trend to promote the pratices of regionalism and communalism and we feel proud behaving so un-rationally and by not electing the right person, most of the people today suffer from psuedo-concern disorder-yes, that is they dont care really to exercise their right to vote and even if they do so, they end up favoring someone who is from their caste or religion- its sad but true, party like BJP with true nationalist ideology has suffered a set back just because they don't know how to ensure their minority vote bank by making fool out of that marginally influential part of population. Its a tragic irony that when we call BJP a hinduvadi party we tend to ignore that the hindu party with so called 80% of population behind it fails to make it to power, and they are termed as bad people who promote violence and what not all; but their counter part is so pure that they don't even need to talk about hinduism still they get to power, the problem is with the system that Indian republic follows somewhere BJP is better and in some aspects Congress scores higher and for that matter any political party, what i feel is that there should be a fair fight between their ideologies but then turn up these little regional parties making the in roads into the totals of bigger parties creating a mess in the national level elections in the name of caste and region, this multi party system at national level spoils the essence of elections and the elections merely turn out to be a formality of redistributing the seats among parties for a later on mutual decision. If we really want some solid leadership then we need to follow a two party system (or only national parties should be allowed to contest LS elections) at the national level where the two(or only all the national) parties should contest the elections and the winner should be asked to form the govt. so that it may function properly for next 5 years and can take decisions that serve NATION and not any individual or religion or caste; while regional parties should be constrained to assembly elections so that they may effectively see towards the local problem and let the bigger players worry about global issues.There might be many alternative to the current scenario but seriously we do need to revise this whole federal democratic system of Indian republic.

lead to a better tommorow

once again there is time when everyone will engage into seasonal patriotism that grows out of us twice a year 15th aug and today 26th jan, its good but apparently we tend to hype nationalism on these occasions....... we sing patriotic songs,reward brave soldiers with PVC, SM, VSM et al., remember our freedom fighters..... this all is no bad but the essence of republic day lies in reviving the constitution of our nation that guides India to be a better nation post independence.............

as the Preamble of constitution goes

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:

JUSTICE, social, economic and political;

LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;

EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;

and to promote among them all

FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;

the pillars of this documentation are going weak and if we dont realize it sooner the republic might collapse someday.....

* organisations like MNS in maharashtra openly destroy the clause of FRATERNITY
* EQUALITY is nowhere to be seen
* LIBERTY is on the discretion of powerful

the time is to strengthen the basic ideas of the REPUBLIC of INDIA .... time to overcome bias on the grounds of region, religion and status .....
more than being patriotic we need to develop a sense of nationalism and brotherhood...... dont hate some one if you are from south and he is from north or vice versa it wont get you neither bread nor friends.......

do think about it and let INDIA be what it is ..... discourage separatists and encourage fraternity ..... जय हिंद

today its my second lohri in delhi...mood is upright party one, delhi junta is dancing the chilling winter out on blends of punjabi numbers - truly delhi has an air of India, every celebration makes a sense here people do indulge themselves... i just went out to get an Old monk bottle i could see out there people in small group with bonfire..... though i am not much into these punjabi tracks but there is something today in the air which made me listen to those tracks dil le gayi kudi gujrat ki, daru by RBD many like these ;

 

now when i look forward there is practical exams, then visit to home and of course with 4 golden globe awards slumdog.. is definitely in my priority list... wrapping up these days, past few ones were really kool..

again back here at the work place that i dont like at all i was never expecting this from my side that i will miss my home town this much travelling to and fro lucknow has made me reveal its essence to myself in a much elaborated manner, now i could easily realise the subtitle 'city of Nawabs' to its aptness. Here in lucknow i dont need to worry and the things would get done on its own, a place to sit back in your couch and enjoi the proceedings of life but then i remind myself back it was me only too eager to escape away from there and enjoi out but the scene is not that enjoing now i got to travel 50 mins to reach college attend the useless classes there for 6 to 7 hours for no valid reason except increasing the 'present marks' in teachers register- pathetic education system i must state here; anyways home's home and the inherited qualities of a city can never get washed away ... salutes to the aura of lucknow ...prateik

engineers ..knowing them liltle better ...

Traditionally engineers have been viewed as geeks or nerds who do nothing but study strange kinds of things and manufacture big machines and buildings. Even nowadays when some coaching institute puts up an ad showing engineering aspirants they would put up posters of people with formal boring shirts and a metallic cap which the mechanics wear in garages. Whereas the doctors they’ll show are all smart and dashing with matching colorful shirts inside their white aprons.
I mean why such discrimination against engineers. They would make serials like sanjeevani and dhadkan for doctors. Do only doctors have the charm to woo girls. And engineers are all boring people found glued to their computer screens or buried inside a pile of machines.
Come on, engineers are not like that. At least not what I’ve seen and known.
Then who are engineers and what are engineers. Well understanding this species is extremely difficult. However the common characteristics are:
Extreme
Whatever they do has to be on an extreme. No study for the 4-5 months of the semester and no sleep for the 4-5 days before the exams. The same student who you’ll find with his torn jeans and the college t-shirt jumping out of the class(or rather bunking out of the class), impressing the panel of interviewers from the very best companies of the world.
The same stud whom you found half-conscious and fully drunk lying outside the hostel gate in the garden, can stun a gathering full of scholars while delivering a speech on consciousness.
Adaptive
Engineering students are supposed to be the most indisciplined and rude fellows on campus who are always clumsily dressed. But what happens to these guys/gals when they hit the corporate floor. They are the most smartly dressed people and present the face of India Inc.
They are as comfortable in the college-side khokha(dhaba) eating maggy sitting on the mat as they are while having lunch with their clients in a 5-star hotel.
Matter-of-fact
The 4 years of engineering teaches engineers how to learn. Learn different concepts, languages, techniques and anything else. Engineers are basically learners. Engineers doing well in CAT and other entrances are not because they are engineers but because they are good learners and can adapt to the changing situations.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

there was a great hustle in the political gallery of India LEFT,RIGHT,CENTER everyone was trading, organizing and managing the majority in the house to get the authority to handle the nation in the name of the government. Did u realize how cheap is it to carry out big decisions just by spending a few crore rupees, no ones interested in the fate of nation but the only greed is that of power how to gain power has apparently been the motive for any of the previous governments as to no surprise it is now... DEAL has no doubt both positive and negative aspects and its arguable to be on any side of the deal you could always boast your points be in favor or against but just imagine any other situation when there is true demarcation of wrong and right then if these MP's abstain for money whats gonna be idea behind democracy.. this whole stuff has just made the mockery of universal adult franchise ... let nation decide whatever they wish ..........
If in such a condition a politician is called moron and bastard there should not be any eyebrows raised .... but the same old saying .. 'apne ghar ki safai mein haath gande kaun kare'........... bas keep cursing .... i very well know that guys say- are u nuts utna padh likh kar politics ...thats the problem brother ..u dont want to administer nations fate and thats not the end, on the other hand you gladly transfer the burden of nation building to Criminals, greedy, and real losers who without any fail perform there task of milking the every situation available....

guys its high time now .... try thinking practical your all efforts are vain if nation fails to perform well ...... so if you cant do something then at least dont elect anything wrong ......... do utilize the biggest power of democracy 'the universal adult franchise' and help in the formation of a strong and great INDIA .....

silani, sohna, gurgaon ... address to hundreds of Little guns of Indian republic ... they are living a free life quite happy and contented with the average time they spend roaming along the village .... savouring their treasured heritage of backwardness ... do they ... at any cost deserve it even after having the name 'gurgaon' in there address ...the irony is bitter ..gurgaon that's claimed to be the 'mini America' by haryana authorities ... plays host to this particular region too ..where proper basic facilities await .... A true picture of unbalanced economic growth in indian economy... giant software houses working from their offices along the highway ...don't think like looking around their window panes ..coz the contrast may disturb there concentrated hard work to develop india ... what a SATIRE .....they are working for development of India ... holy crap... its just the development through their eyes .... the flashy glassy biggies that have erected up shamefully soothes there eyes ....... the MBA chaps inside those biggies wont recall the chapter pertaining to 'corporate social responsibility' ...... coz now they don't have an exam to be taken ...... now only clients ought to be studied and deals be cracked... who gives the damn heed to whats written in texts unless its gonna get u a decent customer ...... the situation is pathetic. Most of the engineers spend their college days in the outskirts as most of the colleges are located that way only..but still they never get the idea that its all being wasted if you cant pay back to roots ..... watering the branches may momentarily let you see healthy and flashy leaves ....... but depriving the roots of its share ..will ultimately uproot everything on the branches .....
